Discovery of the Passage des Panoramas
Categories : City Guide, published on : 2/13/25
A concentrate of architectural treasures, this covered passage is one of the main spots for philatelic commerce in Paris.
To explore this passage, which stretches for about a hundred meters between Boulevard Montmartre to the north and Rue St Marc to the south, you should not hesitate to enter its various buildings. At number 57, the tea room is housed in the 19th-century premises of the famous chocolatier Marquis, whose wooden entrance columns, interior mirrors, and beautiful coffered ceiling are still preserved.
Further along, be sure to visit the paper engraver Stern, as well as the numerous stamp dealers. At number 26, discover the antique postcard shop and, nearby, the cabaret restaurant "Crokenote" dedicated to French chanson. Finish in front of the famous Théâtre des Variétés, owned by actor Jean-Paul Belmondo.
